I enjoyed this film. Now as it relates to our studies, it points out again how people are lead by desire. It questions self control? Is self control possible as the murderer in this film told the gangsters that they had, or are we all lead by the " death drive"? The murderer believed that his inability to control his impulses was lead by a greater force from deep within. He basically pointed out to the gangsters that they were worse off than he as a murderer who had no control as apposed to them who had and made a conscious decision to do evil to another.

The scene that stuck out to me was the first scene when the children formed in the circle were singing  " just you wait a little while. The nasty man in black will come with his little chopper. He will chop you up". A woman encouraged the children to stop singing but upon moving out of sight, they continued. Further into the scene a child is murdered and the community panics. This scene showed the severity of the town murders through the game of the children which at the end of the verse one child was out and that was the next to be murdered. It showed that it could be any child at random. Although the opening scene was a game it depicted fear and worriation The children knew they were safe inside but fearful of of who could be next should they be outside the care of their care givers.
